Yesterday was a fabulous day for me. I received the phone call I’ve been hoping to get for almost a week. I applied for a management position at our local Claire’s Accessories store here in town, and after a 2-hour interview, a full reference check, and an online questionnaire, the District Manager called me yesterday to offer me the job! Needless to say, I was ecstatic! I still am, really, given that I’ve just returned from meeting my Assistant Manager and filling out all of the necessary paperwork.

The job itself is pretty sweet, from what I understand. I’ll be running the store, basically, dealing with staffing and all of the communication between headquarters and our branch. I’m being sent to Burlington, which is about 2 hours away, next week for training, and the company is paying for my hotel and providing transportation to and from work for the whole week. After three months, I’ll have my health and dental benefits, and I know those will come in handy. There’s a lot to learn, and a lot of responsibility, but I’m hoping I’ll be able to handle it. They even know I have Fibromyalgia, and they hired me anyway! My District Manager is really awesome, and I’m sure we’ll get along just fine.

I’m still planning to update Scars every week, but I may change from Saturdays to Sundays, because I work Saturdays now.  I’ll let everyone know what happens with that. There will not be an update this weekend, because I’m going to be busy packing and such, and I haven’t had time to get very much ahead again. I’m hoping that while I’m in Burlington I’ll have a chance to get some writing done (I won’t have much else to do while I’m not at work), and we’ll be back on track the following weekend.
